Análisis de datos estadísticos en criminología: infracciones administrativas de seguridad vial y la percepción del riesgo

Abstract

Aunque las incidencias en las carreteras españolas continúan bajando respecto a los años anteriores, el número de infracciones que se cometen sigue siendo superior al esperado según los datos del “Balance de accidentalidad vial de 2018”, provocando además de accidentes mortales y heridos graves, muchas multas y la pérdida de puntos en el permiso de circulación. Hay muchos conductores que no son conscientes del peligro que conlleva tener conductas que puedan distraer su atención en la carretera. La propia Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) está promoviendo el cambio de alguna de las infracciones actuales para aumentar su castigo con el fin de disminuir el riesgo en las vías y fomentar una conducción más segura y responsable para todos.El objetivo de este trabajo es relacionar el hecho de cometer infracciones al volante con la percepción del riesgo. Todos sabemos que cometer una infracción conlleva una sanción, pero ¿somos realmente conscientes de ello cuando la realizamos? Con el fin de abordar este problema, elaboraremos un estudio estadístico que consistirá en pasar una encuesta a sujetos de la población de Onda, para estudiar si son conscientes de los riesgos que suponen acciones como no llevar el cinturón de seguridad siempre puesto, la posible colisión por saltarse una señal de tráfico o por manejar el teléfono móvil durante la conducción.

Although the incidences on Spanish roads continue decreasing compared to previous years, the number of infractions committed is still higher than expected, according to the "Balance de accidentalidad vial de 2018" database, causing fatal accidents and serious injuries, many fines and the loss of points in the driving license. Many drivers are not aware about the danger of having behaviors that can distract their attention from the road. The “Dirección General de Tráfico” is promoting the change of some of the current infractions to increase their punishment in order to reduce the risk in the roads and encourage safer driving for all. The objective of this work is to relate the fact of committing driving infractions with the perception of risk. Everybody knows that committing a driving violation carries a penalty, but are we really aware of it when we do it? In order to address this problem, we will elaborate a statistical study consisting of making a test to Onda’s people to see if they are aware of the risks involved in actions such as not wearing the safety belt always on, the problem that they may have to skip a traffic signal or the use of the mobile phone while driving.
