dc.description.abstract | Schizophrenia is one of the most serious mental disorders, causes are very varied and do not have consensus among the scientific community. Cognitive deterioration is one of the signs and symptoms that cause greater disability in those patients. There are two types of treatments, pharmacological and neurocognitive treatment. The effectiveness of neurocognitive treatment for the reduction of cognitive deficits in patients with severe mental disorder has been proved in several studies. The present study aims to verify that the administration of cognitive rehabilitation treatments, such as the one used in this research, “Pon en forma tus neuronas" achieves an improvement in cognitive deficits, which Become into greater social and personal performance of the patients. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that the administration of cognitive rehabilitation treatments, such as the one used in this research "put your neurons in shape", achieves an improvement in cognitive deficits, which translates into greater social and personal performance of the patients. Patients A sample of 19 participants, 2 women and 17 men, diagnosed with schizophrenia, users treated on an outpatient basis at the Rehabilitation and Social Integration Center of the Cruz Roja Castellón, was selected. A pre-test was carried out to evaluate the cognitive functions of the participants, then the cognitive rehabilitation treatment was applied two hours a week for three months, and subsequently a post-test was done to evaluate the cognitive functions of the patients after the treatment. The results obtained in this investigation show that the majority of patients improved in functions such as visual, auditory and recognition memory; maintenance of attention and division of attention, perception, abstraction, organization and planning, cognitive flexibility and problem solving. dc.description.abstract | La esquizofrenia es uno de los trastornos mentales más graves, las causas son muy variadas y no existe consenso entre la comunidad científica. De los signos y síntomas de la enfermedad, es el deterioro cognitivo el que provoca que los pacientes con este tipo de patologías experimenten una mayor discapacidad. Existen dos tipos de tratamientos, farmacológico y neurocognitivo, se ha comprobado en diversos estudios la eficacia del tratamiento neurocognitivo para la reducción de déficits cognitivos en pacientes con trastorno mental grave. El objetivo de este estudio es demostrar que la administración de tratamientos de rehabilitación cognitiva, como el utilizado en esta investigación “pon en forma tus neuronas” consigue una mejora de los déficits cognitivos, lo que se traduce en un mayor desempeño social y personal de los pacientes. Se seleccionó una muestra de 19 participantes 2 mujeres y 17 hombres, diagnosticados con esquizofrenia, usuarios tratados de manera ambulatoria en el Centro de Rehabilitación e integración social de Cruz Roja Castellón. Se realizó un pre-test para evaluar las funciones cognitivas de los participantes, después se aplicó el tratamiento de rehabilitación cognitiva dos horas a la semana durante tres meses, y posteriormente se hizo un post-test para evaluar las funciones cognitivas de los pacientes después del tratamiento. Los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación muestran que la mayoría de pacientes mejoraron en funciones como memoria visual, auditiva y de reconocimiento; mantenimiento de la atención y división de la atención, percepción, abstracción, organización y planificación, flexibilidad cognitiva y resolución de problemas. Todas estas funciones influyen en el desempeño de las actividades de la vida diaria y su participación en la comunidad. | ca_CA |
