This is a Final Degree Project in which the most ancient human history will be dealt with and taught
aimed at four-year olds, although adaptations to other early-childhood education stages may be
possible.
Prehistory and History are the main focus of this study, which takes an experimental approach,
where children can observe - and take part in - ancient customs and different ways of life. The Paleolithic and the Neolithic periods are the main focus of study regarding prehistoric times; whereas
three of the greatest civilizations (i.e. Greece, Rome and Egypt) are the main protagonists as far as
ancient history is concerned. The aim of this project is to teach children the different lifestyles and
the evolution of cultures to our days.
The use of games in childhood helps and enhances retention, thereby reinforcing the learning
process. Therefore, with the help of some manipulative activities, together with their own experience,
the purpose of this project is for children to learn the evolution of mankind and life itself. In this way,
children will become familiar with the changes in the human species and their ways of life. [-]
