El bilingüismo en Educación Infantil: efectos en el desarrollo cognitivo

Abstract

Existen gran cantidad de estudios que hablan del bilingüismo y sus efectos a una edad temprana, es decir, prácticamente desde el nacimiento están expuestos a dos lenguas. Algunos afirman y creen que esto supone numerosos efectos positivos, como a la hora de la realización de tareas de control cognitivo y ejecutivo. Pero también hay otro punto de vista y otros estudios, en los que se cree que los efectos del bilingüismo no son tan buenos y que estos también nos afectan de forma negativa. En las siguientes páginas encontraremos una revisión sobre varios artículos. Estos artículos tratan de investigaciones y estudios en los que se han hecho pruebas a niños y niñas que están expuestos a más de un idioma y también a niños que solo están expuestos a un idioma, para así ver las diferencias que existen entre estos. Así hemos podido ver las diferencias a la hora de realizar una misma tarea, tanto en la activación del cerebro como en las puntuaciones obtenidas en dichas pruebas.

Many studies talk about bilingualism and its effects at an early age. Some of them say and believe that this involves numerous positive effects, such as the realization of tasks of cognitive control and executive. However, there is also another point of view and other studies in which it is believed that the effects of bilingualism are not as good as other studies think and that these have negative effects on us. In the following pages, we will find a review about several articles. These articles are about research and studies in which children who are exposed to more than one language and children who are only exposed to a language have been tested, in order to see the differences that exist between them. Thanks to these studies, we have been able to see the differences when performing the same task, in the activation of the brain and in the scores obtained in these tests.
