Consecuencias biopsicosociales del Binge drinking en adolescentes y jóvenes: una revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

Binge drinking is increasingly widespread among the adolescent and young pop ulation, and is generally translated into the practice of public drinking . This pattern has aroused a strong interest among the scientific community due to its close relationship with important health problems. The literature shows a clear relationship bet ween this type of consumption and the presence or increase of cognitive deficits, social or psychological problems, risk behaviors, with the development of a n alcohol use disorder , as well as suicidal ideation or behavior. The objective of this review is t o identify and indicate the main biopsychosocial consequences associated with binge drinking.

El patrón de consumo de alcohol en forma de atracón o binge drinking está cada vez más extendido entre la población adolescente y joven , y se traduce generalmente e n la práctica del botellón . Este patrón ha despertado un fuerte interés entre la comunidad científica debido a su estrecha relación con problemas de salud importantes. La literatura muestra una clara relación entre este tipo de consumo y la presencia o aum ento de déficits cognitivos, problemas sociales o psicológicos, conductas de riesgo, con el desarrollo de un trastorno por consumo de alcohol, así como con la ideación o conducta suicida . El objetivo de esta revisión es identificar y señalar las principale s consecuencias biopsicosociales asociadas al binge drinking.
