dc.description.abstract | The relaxin -3 / RXFP system constitutes a current of research and experimentation for a few decades regarding its distribution in the brain of animals and its correlation with various neurophysiological, psychi atri c, and metabolic functions. Relaxin - 3, a member of the insulins and relaxins superfamily, has been detected in numerous anatomical structures of the brain of the rat. Both this and its RXFP 3 receptor are involved in functions such as dietary intake, sleep / wakefulness, behavior, stress response, and memory. However, a search in the entorhinal cortex, which is the access route between the septa -hippocampal theta dependent circuit and the telencephalic cortex, has not been carried out until now. In this work, we have demonstrated the positive inmunorreactivity of the relaxin -3, and numerous contacts with synaptophysi n and calcium - binding protein expressing putative GABAergic neurons. Using the Leica DMi8 confocal mic roscope (Leica Microsystems) and the Fiji ImageJ 64 Software, we 5 will quantify these contacts. Contrasting our results in the entorhinal cortex with the literature, we conclude d that the relaxin -3 / RXFP system may be a source of correlation between stress and food intake, as well as a theta rhythm modulator, a neurotransmitter in the emotions and behavior and a therapeutic target in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. | ca_CA |
| ca_CA |
