Els càtars: història d’una heretgia cristiana

Abstract

La situació política i social de finals del segle XII dóna lloc a una nova fe cristiana que posa en perill l’església catòlica. La nova fe serà denominada heretgia i l’església de Roma prendrà una sèrie de mesures, no molt pacífiques, per eliminar-la. En primer lloc es vol aconseguir amb la lluita espiritual, més tard s’opta per la via militar, amb la primera croada contra altres cristians i, per últim, es crea la Inquisició. Malgrat la resistència de tots els seus adeptes, la fe càtara desapareixerà amb la mort de l’últim càtar, Guillem Belibasta. L’objectiu d’aquest treball es centra en l’estudi de l’aparició d’aquesta església paral·lela a la catòlica, les mesures preses pels eclesiàstics i el seu tràgic final.

The political and social situation of the ends of the 12th century gives rise to a new Christian faith that endangers the Catholic Church. The new faith will be called heresy and the church of Rome will take a serie of measures, not very peaceful, to eliminate it. In the first place it is wanted to achieve with the espiritual struggle, later it is opted for the military way, with the first Crusade against other Christians and, finally, the Inquisition was created. In spite of the resistance of all his followers, the Cathar faith will disappear with the death of the last Cathar, Guillem Belibasta. The objective of this work is to study the appearance of this church parallel to the Catholic, the measures taken by the eclesiàstics and their tràgic end.
