Eficacia de las medidas de libertad vigilada e internamiento en la reincidencia juvenil y adulta

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a relevant issue and usually tend to create big social alarm, especially the risk of recidivism of juvenile offenders. Recidivism can be explained by the ineffectiveness of the management of the measures imposed on minors who submit a case file. The aim of this study was to compare the true effectiveness of the measures imposed on minors and their relationship with juvenile and adult recidivism. To this end, the criminal characteristics of 264 minors with a court record in the Juvenile Court of Castellón were analyzed, coming from the probation and internment measures and aged from 14 and 18.81 years. With a follow-up period of 24 months, different variables were studied regarding their criminal activity. Results were obtained don’t coincide with previous studies, especially in relation to juvenile recidivism, with the level of risk of the offender being the variable that most influences and best predicts recidivism in the juvenile group as an adult.
