The aim of the following study is analyse the influence of the CEO salary in the creation of value of the companies. This research is trying to demonstrate the hypothesis that the CEO salary has a positive influence in the firm performance which will be measured throw ROA ratio. In order to carry out this research, it has been used the information of a sample which has been taken from the companies that were listed in the Madrid Stock Exchange during 2015.
The results give evidence that CEO compensation has a positive and significant influence in the firm value so that as higher the salary of the CEO is, higher the creation of value in the companies. But the results of the study also give evidence that the CEO compensation is not the only element to have into account in the study of the firm value movements. [-]
