Aproximación histórica al populismo y neopopulismo

Abstract

Este trabajo de final de grado tiene como objetivo analizar desde una doble óptica: conceptual e histórica; el fenómeno político del populismo latinoamericano y conectar este momento histórico con el presente y la historia más cercana encarnado en el fenómeno neopopulista. A partir de aquí, analizamos el fenómeno populista y neopopulista a través de las distintas teorías y conceptos, junto al desarrollo de algunos de los gobiernos populistas más destacados en Latinoamérica (Perón en Argentina, Cárdenas en México y Vargas en Brasil). Por último, examinamos en la historia reciente el fenómeno neopopulista de forma conceptual y teórica, así como tres de las experiencias neopopulistas (Lula en Brasil, Kirchner en Argentina y Chávez en Venezuela). Conectar el momento populista clásico con el neopopulista reciente o actual, incluyendo el momento neoliberal que los enlaza supone un esfuerzo en la síntesis de la historia del siglo XX Latinoamericano, no obstante, esperamos que este trabajo aporte una aproximación que favorezca la comprensión de un momento histórico clave con fuerte impronta en el presente no solo latinoamericano sino mundial.

This paper aims to analyze from a double perspective: conceptual and historical; the political phenomenon of Latin American populism and connect this historical moment with the present and the closest history embodied in the neopopulist phenomenon. To fulfill this objective we will analyze the populist and neopopulist phenomenon through the different theories that have been realized and the concepts closely linked to populism, accompanied by the development of some of the most populist populist governments in Latin America (Perón in Argentina, Cárdenas in Mexico and Vargas in Brazil). Through Latin American historical development, we will come to recent history to deal very similarly with the neopopulist phenomenon in a conceptual and theoretical way, in order to analyze three neopopulist moments (Lula in Brazil, Kirchner in Argentina and Chavez in Venezuela). Connecting the classic populist moment with the neopopulist recent or current, including the neoliberal moment that connects them supposes an effort in the synthesis of the history of the XX century Latin American, nevertheless, we hope that this work provides an approximation that favors the understanding of a moment historical key with strong imprint in the present not only Latin American but worldwide.
