The ceramic sector digitalization

Abstract

The ceramic industry is the most important economic sector in the province of Castellón, and the third sector in Spain. The economic crisis, which began in 2007, had a major impact and repercussions on this sector than in others. Its high geographical concentration and the support of important and official institutions, led the Spanish ceramic sector to the top of the industrial innovation. As a result of the investments in new technologies, a Spanish company managed to patent a revolutionary method of digital printing. This dissertation studies 20 Spanish companies by means of an econometric model, how the digitization of ceramic printing, allowed to regenerate the Spanish ceramic sector between the years 2007 and 2015.
