Purpose: The main objective of this study is to analyze which organizational aspects of
the entrepreneurial orientation of a technology-based company have favoured the
development of intrapreneurial behaviour and to discover the motivations of
intrapreneurs to propose and lead a project within the company. We also explore how
these factors can explain to a greater extent the achievement of benefits for the company
derived from the corporate entrepreneurship.
Design/Methodology: To achieve these objectives, we propose a research model
based on the theoretical background that we test out in an exploratory way in the context
of one new technological based company located in Castellón (Espaitec):
Cuatroochenta. To do this, we carried out a study based on interviews and
questionnaires for both employees and managers (CEO and CTO).
Findings: The results show us that a NTBF with less economic resources and time
available for developing corporate entrepreneurship still promotes intrapreneurial
behaviours. Work discretion, rewards and management support are the key factors that
influence corporate entrepreneurship. It is also note that that the most important
motivating factor to engage in intrapreneurial behaviours is the mutual confidence and
quality of the relationship in the company. [-]
