Economic Analysis - Financial Group MASMOVIL : value of telecommunications

Abstract

The mobile telephony sector, an oligopolistic sector with three outstanding companies and with the rest of the market very fragmented where there is a great freedom with regard to the strategies that carry out the different companies to be able to stay in the market. We have decided to analyze the Grupo MASMOVIL Ibercom, a company that operates in the telecommunications sector, which carries out an ambitious Strategic Growth Plan, during the years 2013 - 2015, to become the 4th full-line operator in Spain. First we will give an overview of the company, history, policy of strategic acquisitions of companies of the sector, we will include information on the business lines in which it operates, and we will make a brief analysis of the telecommunications sector. Secondly, we study the group's financial performance and its current situation based on the analysis of financial ratios and profitability, analyzing the financial statements for the years 2012 to 2015.
