Oil sector between 2011 and 2015; financial economic analysis of three Spanish companies.

Abstract

The work presented afterwards is based on the economic and financial analysis of three companies belonging to the oil sector, in the period between 2011 and 2015, based on their financial statements, which are included in the attachments. These are the Spanish companies Repsol, Cepsa and Disa. Firstly, it is analyzed the sector as a whole, with special attention to the most important aspects to explain its evolution in recent years, such as export, import or consumption levels. Then, it is carried out the analysis of the three enterprises in the sector, by means of the study of financial ratios, in order to evaluate aspects such as profitability, liquidity, solvency or management of the selected companies. Based on the results obtained in each block of analysis it is made a comparison, obtaining later the main conclusions.
