Discovering the animal kingdom by clil methodology

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de fin de grado presenta una aproximación a la metodología CLIL y a los criterios y pautas a seguir para que la planificación y elaboración de una unidad didáctica en base a este novedoso e innovador enfoque sea correcto y eficaz. Para conocer las bases de la metodología CLIL, primero vamos a indagar sobre el concepto de bilingüismo y plurilingüismo y su proyección y evolución en la Unión Europea. Después se conocerá la aplicación de estos dos términos en España y especialmente en la Comunidad Valenciana, ya que es dónde se aplicará la unidad didáctica. Para el desarrollo del presente trabajo, se ha realizado una investigación teórica para acercarnos y documentarnos a esta metodología. De esta forma, se ha conocido sus características más relevantes, el rol del profesor en este tipo de enfoque y los beneficios que conlleva utilizar esta metodología en el aula. A partir de estas premisas, se ha realizado una planificación y elaboración exhaustiva de una Unidad Didáctica partiendo de un contenido curricular del área de ciencias naturales. Esta Unidad Didáctica está pensada para alumnos de segundo curso de educación primaria. Esta unidad, se podría adaptar y modificar para cualquier otro curso de la etapa de educación primaria.

This TFG research is presented to have a main insight to CLIL methodology as well as its criteria its fundamentals and how to carry out a successful didactic unit base on this new and innovative approach. First and foremost, to discover the fundamentals of CLIL methodology, it is crucial to explore the concepts of bilinguism and plurilinguism and how it is put into practice within the European Union. Secondly, we will have a look at the application of these two terms in Spain, and last but not least, in Valencian Community, where this didactic unit is designed to be applied. A theorical research has been looked into for the development of this project. In this way, we have been able to highlight the most relevant characteristics, the teacher role in this kind of approach and the benefits that entails to carry out this methodology in the classroom. From these premises, a through planning and elaboration of a Didactic Unit based on the Natural Science curricula has been designed. This Didactic Unit is aimed at students of 2nd grade of primary school. However, this unit could be perfectly modified for any other grade of primary school.
