Educar en el duelo. Un reto formativo para Educación Infantil

Abstract

El objetivo principal de este trabajo final de grado es conocer y reflexionar como los procesos de duelo, en especial la muerte, siguen siendo un tema tabú en la sociedad y, sobre todo, en la educación. El duelo y la muerte se elude en las escuelas, por miedo, temor o por puro desconocimiento. Es importante trabajar estos temas ya que ayudan al niño a prepararse y afrontarse a esta realidad que está presente en nuestras vidas. Para tratar de comprender, desde perspectivas profesionales, cómo está reflejado este tipo de didáctica me he decantado por hacer entrevistas en profundidad a tres expertos. Además de realizar una intervención educativa de dos sesiones en un colegio de infantil. Las entrevistas han sido de tipo cualitativas profundas semiestructuradas. Por otro lado, para las sesiones he utilizado la técnica observación/participante y como recogida de información, las notas de campo. Los resultados muestran que aunque sigue siendo un tema tabú, también es cierto que hay cada vez más investigaciones y recursos interesantes para trabajar el duelo y la muerte en las aulas de infantil. Aun así, queda un arduo trabajo para normalizar y para formar al nuevo profesorado en este tipo de situaciones. Como conclusión, educar en el duelo debería ser una materia transversal, asumiendo la muerte como un proceso natural.

The main objective of this final project is to know and reflect how the processes of mourning, especially death, remain a taboo subject in society and, above all, in education. The mourning and death are avoided in schools, due to fear or ignorance. It is important to work on these issues because it helps the child to prepare and face this reality that is present in our lives. To try to understand, from professional perspectives, how this type of teaching is reflected I have opted to do in-depth interviews with three experts. In addition to an educational intervention of two sessions in a nursery school. The interviews have been qualitative deep semi-structured, for the sessions I have used the observation/participant technique and as a information collector, field notes. The results show that although it is still a taboo subject, it is also true that there are more and more interesting researchs and resources to work on grief and death in classrooms of infant education. Even so, there is an arduous work to normalize and to train the new teachers in this type of situations. In conclusion, educating in mourning should be a transverse matter, assuming death as a natural process.
