Veïns de barri

Abstract

Este trabajo, a través del formato documental, habla sobre un problema que están sufriendo muchas ciudades de todo el mundo. Su masificación nos está dejando sin espacios verdes. Este hecho tiene consecuencias negativas que afectan tanto al eje medioambiental como social. El problema se agrava cuando hay soluciones pero los gobiernos y ayuntamientos no hacen nada ya que no aporta ningún beneficio económico. El tema lo tratamos a través del colectivo Recreant Cruïlles, un colectivo nacido de la Asamblea de la Esquerra del Eixample de Barcelona que, recogiendo reivindicaciones de otras entidades del barrio, ha reactivado un proyecto ya existente de peatonalización del barrio y en apertura del Espai Germanetes, un solar público en desuso de 5000 m2. De este modo y mientras los planes municipales no se lleven a cabo, tiene que ser el propio barrio quien aproveche y gestione estos vacíos, para encaminarnos hacia un modelo más sostenible en las ciudades donde el poder lo tienen las personas. Dentro de esta memoria queda reflejado el trabajo y proceso de producción para la realización del documental Veïns de Barri.

This work, through the documentary format, talks about a problem that many cities are suffering around the world. Their widespread are leaving us without green spaces. That has negative consequences for both the environmental and social axis of the city. The problem is aggravated when there are solutions but governments and municipalities do nothing because it does not provide them any economic benefit. We approach the issue through the collective Recreant Cruïlles, a group born at the Barcelona’s Esquerra Eixample Assembly, who collecting claims of the neighbours has revived an existing project in the neighborhood, and opened the Espai Germanetes, on a disused public land of 5000 m2. While municipal plans are not being carried out, it has to be the neighborhood who owns and manage these empty spaces, and move towards a more sustainable model in the cities where the power lies with the people.
