I analyse the diffusion that the industry of mobile telephones has had around the world
and its repercussion over the course of the years (according to different income and
education levels). To make this possible, I study people access to devices adjusting two
different functions of sigmoidal growth, the logistic and the Gompertz function. This way,
I try to study the relevance that mobile devices have had within the growth of developing
economies. I use the Richards models with non-nested hypothesis by simple calculation
of statistical t-test. I use as parameters growth and technological saturation. With this, I
try to show how different populations in different countries have experienced different
evolution of the mobile phone use in recent years. [-]
