illegal practices led by the corrupt Mexican government. The author conceives
his private investigator as an antihero, closely resembling the average Mexican citizen, who fails repeatedly in his fierce struggle against the system. As a result,
the character establishes himself as a strong source of awareness-raising, as well
as the perfect instrument for the expression of the citizen’s disappointment and
frustration [-]
