REFLEXIONES EN TORNO AL ARTE, LA EDUCACIÓN Y EL GÉNERO

Abstract

El siguiente texto es el punto de partida de distintas reflexiones y actividades realizadas con profesionales del ámbito de la educación y las artes, sensibilizados con la situación de las mujeres dentro del contexto social. Dichas actividades se llevaron a cabo en el congreso Arte, educación y género celebrado en el mes de abril de 2014, en el marco de la tercera edición del Festival Miradas de Mujeres. Una iniciativa anual del colectivo de Mujeres en la Artes Visuales (MAV) que ofreció la oportunidad al Instituto Universitario de Estudios Feministas y de Género Purificación Escribano (IUEFG), de la Universitat Jaume I, de participar como sede de entre las 50 distribuidas por toda la Comunidad Valenciana. Este discurso articula desde un punto de vista pedagógico las distintas experiencias artísticas y vivenciales llevadas a cabo en este contexto. Argumentos y reflexiones en torno a tres grandes bloques temáticos: la gestión cultural, las relaciones entre instituciones, artistas y docentes e investigación. Todos ellos, surgidos a raíz de las relaciones entre las distintas maneras de abordar la educación artística desde su estrecha vinculación con los estudios de género

The following edition is the result of reflections and activities carried out with professionals in education and the arts who are sensitive to the situation of women in the social context. These activities took place in the Arte, educación y género (Art, education and gender) conference held in April 2014, within the framework of the third Miradas de Mujeres (Through Women’s Eyes) Festival, an annual initiative of Mujeres en la Artes Visuales (MAV, Women in the Visual Arts), which invited the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Feministas y de Género Purificación Escribano (IUEFG, Purificación Escribano University Institute of Feminist and Gender Study), at the Universitat Jaume I, to participate as the main venue from among the 50 venues across the Valencian Community. This discourse is the starting point for various artistic and life experiences carried out in this context. The arguments and reflections revolve around three main subject areas: cultural management, relations between institutions, artists and teachers and research, all of which arise from the relationships between different ways of approaching art education based on its close link with gender studies.
