Educación Comparada: Educación Democrática en España y Dinamarca

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo de revisión teórica es demostrar la importancia de desarrollar una escuela democrática en y para la sociedad actual a través de una comparación entre el sistema educativo español con el danés. En primer lugar, y a modo de introducción, se explica la necesidad de incluir en nuestras escuelas un modelo educativo democrático para responder a las necesidades de la ciudadanía actual, la cual necesita cada día más una buena preparación para formar parte activa de la sociedad. En segundo lugar se describen ambos sistemas educativos en líneas generales para conseguir un mayor entendimiento de éstos y de sus principales diferencias. Por un lado el modelo educativo español ha cambiado mucho en los últimos años con la llegada de la LOMCE, los valores democráticos están evolucionando hacia valores y habilidades más individualistas y competitivos. Por el otro lado, la importancia del concepto de democracia en toda la sociedad y cultura danesa ofrece un ejemplo ideal sobre el cual reflexionar para conocer mejor los efectos de una educación democrática en el alumnado. Ambos sistemas educativos, muy diferentes en cuanto al aspecto democrático de los centros, nos dan dos buenos puntos de vista para poder reflexionar sobre el papel de la democracia en educación.

The aim of this theoretical review paper is to demonstrate the importance of developing a democratic school in and for the contemporary society through a comparison between Spanish and Danish educational systems. First of all, and as an introduction, there is an explanation about the importance of including a democratic educational model in our schools to answer the current society needs, our pupils need a better preparation in order to take an active part in the society. Secondly there is a description of both educational systems in their general characteristics in order to reach a better understanding of them and their main differences. On the one hand, the Spanish educational system has changed a lot in the last years with the arrival of the LOMCE, democratic values are evolving to more individualistic and competitive values and skills. On the other hand, democracy is a very important subject in Danish culture and society. This is why this country is a perfect example to reflect and get a better understanding of the effect of a democratic education. Both educational systems are very different in the democratic aspect of their schools, that's why they show us very good points of view to reflect about the role of a democracy in education.
