Treball de Final de Grau en Humanitats: Estudis Interculturals. Codi: HU1036.
The following essay is born after four years of study in university, where philosophy has played a very determintating role. Humanities play a central role in the history of democracy. But many parents today feel ashamed of their children to study art or literature. Although the philosophy and literature have changed the world, it is much more likely that a father or mother worry that their children know nothing of business they receive inadequate training in humanities. To the extent that the budget allocated to the humanities is cut , a serious erosion of the qualities essential to democratic life occurs. The great educators and statesmen understood the importance of these disciplines at the time to teach boys and girls to apply critical thinking required to act independently and to develop a strong understanding in the power of authority and blind traditions. Also, people who study art and literature learn to imagine the situation of other human beings, this ability is essential to a thriving democracy and involves cultivating our "deep eyes ". The arts and humanities contribute to the development of girls and young children in the form of game, but also to the training of university students. The child and the student must see the world through different perspectives of vulnerability, growing wealth of imagination. Only then you can conceive of others as equals. This is what needs democracy and global citizenship.ca_CA
