La orientación educativa en españa y Costa Rica, un estudio comparativo

Abstract

La orientación educativa es un servicio creado para la población estudiantil, con el objetivo de ayudar en sus estudios, en su formación integral, en su desarrollo personal, en su orientación vocacional, y en definitiva, ante cualquier situación en la que el alumnado sienta la necesidad de hablar o sentirse acompañado. El desarrollo de este área a lo largo de la historia no ha sido el mismo en todo el mundo, en cada país se ha dado en un contexto y en unas circunstancias completamente distintas. Esto provoca que la formación de estos profesionales y la valoración de su trabajo tampoco sea la misma en las diferentes naciones. En el presente trabajo se lleva a cabo un estudio comparativo de la orientación educativa en dos países de continentes diferentes, España y Costa Rica, con el objetivo de conocer cómo ha evolucionado esta profesión en dos lugares tan alejados, con un mismo idioma pero con costumbres muy distintas. De esta manera, se analizarán las diferencias en cuanto a formación, áreas de trabajo, responsabilidades y funciones que llevan a cabo, y la valoración de estos profesionales en las instituciones de ambos países. Además, se han realizado entrevistas a distintos orientadores, trabajando actualmente en instituciones educativas de Costa Rica, para conocer la opinión que tienen de la realidad de su trabajo una vez dejan las aulas de la universidad.

Educational guidance is a service created for the student population, with the aim of helping in their studies, learning, personal development, vocational guidance, and in general, in any situation in which students feel the need to talk or feel accompanied. The development of this area throughout history has not been the same in all the world, in each country has occurred in a completely different context and circumstances. This causes the formation of professionals in educational guidance and the assessment of their work not to be the same in different nations. In this project, a comparative study of educational orientation is carried out in two countries of different continents, Spain and Costa Rica, in order to analyse how this profession has evolved in two very distant places, with the same language but with a very different culture. Therefore, in this way, the differences in terms of training, working areas, responsibilities and functions performed, and the valuation of these professionals in institutions of both countries will be analysed and discussed. In addition, interviews with various professionals in this sector, currently working in educational institutions of Costa Rica, have been carried out to know their opinion on the reality of their work once they leave university.
