Actitudes y creencias sobre la hipnosis en profesores de ciencias de la salud de la UJI

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio es analizar las creencias y actitudes hacia la hipnosis de los profesores de medicina, psicología y enfermería para conocer posibles necesidades de formación sobre hipnosis. Además, otro objetivo es comparar las respuestas entre los profesores de medicina, psicología y enfermería para detectar posibles diferencias en la cualidad de su formación respecto a hipnosis. Para ello se aplicó la Escala de Valencia de Actitudes y Creencias hacia la Hipnosis Terapeuta a una muestra de 45 profesores de la UJI. Los resultados indican que los profesores que respondieron a la escala tienen, en general, creencias ajustadas sobre la hipnosis y una actitud positiva hacia la misma, a pesar de un reducido interés sobre la misma. No se encontraron diferencias entre los profesores en cuanto a creencias y actitudes hacia la hipnosis. Sin embargo, no podemos decir que los resultados sean representativos debido al tamaño reducido de la muestra. Sería de interés que esta evaluación de creencias y actitudes hacia la hipnosis se realizara a un nivel superior, con una muestra propia para pruebas paramétricas. Conociendo las necesidades formativas e informativas de los profesionales, sería más sencillo dar a conocer la hipnosis y sus beneficios promoviendo por tanto su uso eficaz y no iatrogénico.

The aim of this study is to analyze the teacher´s beliefs and attitudes about hypnosis on medicine, psychology and nursing to detect possible training needs on hypnosis. In addition, another objective is to compare the responses between medicine, psychology and nursing teachers to detect possible differences in the quality of their training regarding hypnosis. The Valencia Scale of Attitudes and Beliefs toward Hypnosis Therapist was applied to a sample of 45 teachers in the UJI. The results indicate that teachers who responded to the scale have some adjusted beliefs on hypnosis, and a positive attitude toward it, despite a reduced interest on her use. No differences between beliefs and attitudes of hypnosis in teachers were found. However, this interpretation is not supported by tests of statistical significance due to small sample size. It would be of interest for investigation in assessment of beliefs and attitudes toward hypnosis having a sample which reaches the criteria for parametric tests. Knowing the training and information needs on professionals would make easier to show hypnosis and its benefits promoting its effective and not iatrogenic use.
