The thesis carries out a study of the legal regime of fair compensation for private copying in Spain. Spanish regulation is also contrasted with current regulations in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
To frame the study, the first chapter addresses the right of reproduction, while the second chapter introduces us to the controversial issue of limits to intellectual property rights. The third one focuses specifically on the study of the private copy limit. For its part, chapters four and five analyze the legal regime of fair compensation for private copying in Spain (the fourth, from a historical-chronological view and the fifth, delving into the current Spanish regulation, whose regulations have recently been modified). Finally, the sixth chapter analyzes the regulation of private copying and compensation in Latin America and the Caribbean. [-]
