La tendencia natural de “leer la mente de los demás” nos ayuda a comprender la conducta de los otros,
a anticiparla y a coordinarla de forma coherente con nuestra propia conducta. En definitiva, nos ayuda
a organizar el mundo y a vivir en él.
Cabe suponer, que la evolución de la comprensión de la mente en el niño va relacionada con el
desarrollo neuronal de estos, que a su vez va en paralelo con la socialización. De esta forma, como
regla general se desarrolla a la edad de 3-4 años la habilidad de entender la falsa creencia, mientras
que entre los 6 y los 7 años ya es posible entender las representaciones mentales de los otros (tareas
de falsa creencia de 2º orden).
Para conocer como se desarrolla la comprensión de la mente en las distintas etapas evolutivas,
nuestro equipo de investigación utiliza diversas tareas con el objetivo de estudiar de la forma más
precisa cada uno de los momentos evolutivos en los que se adquieren las competencias necesarias para
la comprensión de la mente, tanto propia como la de los demás.
Este trabajo pretende ser una presentación de las pruebas de las que nos servimos para dicho
objetivo. [-]
