In our education system, PGS (in Spanish: Programas de garantía social, and similar to an English vocational or technical school) are one of the uncommon options after compulsory secondary education, since there are believed not to be the most interesting choices.
The aim of this research is to note which are the variables that convince the students to undertake or not a PGS. At the same time, we will have a general perspective of the type of students in relation to their career opportunity and their disability. Data from 10 different schools – both from the tutors and from students undertaking several modalities of PGS – has been collected. The results will reveal the variables which will help us to ascertain the access of Secondary Education students to PGS programmes. [-]
