It is obvious that the magnitude of this Spanish production must necessarily be colossal if it is to have any hope of competing on an equal footing with Pixar or Dreamworks, the world’s animation giants. Yet, it may be that this pursuit of competitiveness is focused rather too much on emulating the products and processes of its competitors, while to a certain extent neglecting the strategic value of differentiation.
