Today digital images, computer-generated imagery or “computer graphics” are the symbol of a “new post-analogical stage” and are increasingly more commonly present within the contemporary iconosphere. They are images that are generated within a digital environment from mathematical calculations using physical parameters taken from both reality and cinematographic reality, such as volume, the incidence of light and shadows, materials, texture, the atmosphere, movement or the objective lens. The computer becomes a workstation that makes it possible to create and view on screen objects that have not existed previously, where “there is no limit except for the computer itself, and any object and scene can be created”. Computer-generated imagery is not the footprint left by a reality that has existed, it simply generates the images as a series of ones and zeros within a computer environment. But the fact that the image does not represent any physical reality does not mean that it fails to contain tracks left by other media [-]
