Recursos de aprendizaje electrónico en la enseñanza de la anatomía

Abstract

Introducción y métodos. Los conocimientos anatómicos son de vital importancia para cualquier profesional sanitario y su aprendizaje constituye un gran reto para el estudiantado. Por tanto, se requieren estrategias docentes más eficaces que las ya históricamente implementadas. En este sentido, los «mini-vídeos» pueden ser una forma útil y fácilmente accesible para paliar las dificultades en el aprendizaje de los conceptos anatómicos. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron: (1) realizar un estudio descriptivo y prospectivo mediante una encuesta acerca de las principales dificultades conceptuales en el aprendizaje de anatomía que presentó el alumnado que había cursado la asignatura de Aparato Locomotor del grado en Medicina de la Universitat Jaume I (UJI) en años anteriores, y la utilización de contenido multimedia como recurso de estudio; y (2) elaborar un mini-vídeo explicativo sobre el concepto que les supuso mayor dificultad, el cual servirá de apoyo al futuro estudiantado del Grado en Medicina de la UJI (curso 2023/2024 y posteriores). Resultados y discusión. El 87,27% de los encuestados respondió emplear algún recurso multimedia con el objetivo de facilitar su aprendizaje de la anatomía. El 58,18% afirmó haber empleado vídeos. El tema «plexo braquial» en el módulo «extremidad superior» fue considerado «difícil» o «muy difícil» por el 70,90% de la muestra. En base a estos resultados, se procedió a la elaboración de un «minivídeo» explicativo acerca del plexo braquial representándolo como si de un mapa de metro se tratase y comparando su estructura básica con la de un árbol. Conclusiones. Los «mini-vídeos» pueden constituir una herramienta docente eficaz debido a su amplio uso por parte del estudiantado. Su eficacia en el estudio de la anatomía se determinará en futuros trabajos.

Introduction and methods. Anatomical knowledge is of vital importance for any health professional, and its learning represents a big challenge for the students. Therefore, more effective teaching strategies than those historically implemented are needed. In this sense, «mini-videos» can be a useful and easily accessible way to alleviate difficulties in learning anatomical concepts. The aims of this study were two: (1) to carry out a descriptive and prospective study (quiz) about the main conceptual difficulties in anatomy learning presented by students who had taken in previous years the subject of Human Musculoskeletal System of the Degree in Medicine at the Jaume I University, and the use of multimedia content as study resource; and (2) to produce a mini-video about the concept that was the most difficult for them. This mini-video will be used as a support content for future students of the UJI’s Medicine Degree (academic year 2023/2024 and subsequent). Results and discussion. 87.27% of respondents answered that they used some multimedia resource with the aim of facilitating their learning of anatomy. 58.18% stated that they had used videos. The «brachial plexus» topic in the «upper limb» module was considered «difficult» or «very difficult» by 70.90% of the sample. Based on these results, an explanatory «mini-video» about the brachial plexus was prepared, representing it as if it was a subway map and comparing its basic structure with that of a tree. Conclusions. «Mini-videos» can be an effective teaching tool due to their popularity among students. Their effectiveness in anatomical teaching will be determined in future studies.
