| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | This research work studies the impact of the representation of romantic love in the series known as K-Dramas on the audience of young South Koreans and their behaviors. The hypothesis of this analysis is based on Nielsen data highlighting the high consumption of this content by South Korean citizens and statistics that demonstrate how South Korea is the number one country in plastic surgery. With this as a starting point, the aim is to demonstrate the significant impact that these representations of romantic love can have on the young audience's behavior. Through the analysis of various series of this nature (K-Dramas), quantitative studies (surveys), and qualitative studies (interviews), an attempt has been made to understand the way in which romantic myths and romantic practices are present in these fictions. It also aims to determine whether the audience considers the representations to be faithful to the reality of romantic relationships and in what ways they may have affected them behaviorally, among other factors. The most prevalent romantic myth has been self-sacrifice, although the respondents do not exhibit behavior similar to the myth proposed and depicted. In second place, the myth of jealousy has been very prominent as a major factor in the narrative pace of the discourse. The hypothesis has concluded to be slightly incorrect, as it has been realized that the audience does not recognize being influenced in their way of experiencing romantic relationships but does feel influenced in aspects such as pressure on their image and attire. The main limitation of this work has been the limited number of respondents due to the requirements of the study. | ca_CA |
