| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | The mass media have a clear influence on social behaviour and are therefore considered a powerful tool for the prevention of oppressive attitudes and positions towards minority groups through the dissemination of egalitarian, transgressive and culturally effective discourses. Among these groups are women and girls all over the world who suffer or will suffer violence at some point in their lives. This is why institutional communication broadcasts campaigns that show the inequality between men and women and denounces the violence suffered by women as a universal and historical phenomenon. This research aims to understand the importance of broadcasting transgressive messages of social change by applying a qualitative methodology that combines critical discursive analysis and frame analysis to study whether two institutional advertising campaigns broadcast at the state (Spain) and autonomous community (Valencia) level in 2021 meet the criteria of cultural effectiveness and feminist communication. The results show that the first piece does, offering transgressive and mobilising frames that empower the protagonists as well as including a diverse female staff. In contrast, the second piece does not offer a discourse that breaks out of traditional frameworks and does not encourage action, it offers very little female representation and the messages are not transgressive in terms of social change. This project concludes by highlighting the importance of institutional communication working on discourses offering transgressive frameworks under criteria of social justice and advocacy as well as including a perspective that guarantees equality and diversity in order to avoid the dissemination of messages that are harmful to the advancement of feminism and that end up exerting any type of violence. | ca_CA |
