| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | Society is changing, so new family systems are increasing. Reconstituted families are a reality that fills an increasing room in our society and requires appropriate responses to their particular needs. However, neither theoretical writings nor legislations seem to reflect this reality, leaving them helpless to address their family challenges. This paper aims to clarify the role that mediation can play in reconstituted families and how it can help them overcome their crises. After exposing the related psychosocial risks, and the already verified benefits of mediation, we want to present this discipline as an effective working way with this kind of family, different from others such as therapy or judicialization. For this work of descriptive methodology, 31 mediation professionals from the Spanish territory have been contacted and given a questionnaire in interview format created from the CSM-C (Soria, Yepes, and Lovelle, 2013) plus various theoretical contributions. The aim is to study the different effectiveness parameters from their perspective and professional experience with these family systems. After the descriptive analysis of the interviews, mediation is considered an effective method for reconstituted families. It provides exclusive advantages for these new family systems such as flexible solutions, the subsistence of the family nexus, and the ability to cope with challenges that have not been legally legislated yet, such as reconstituted phratries or non-biological grandparents. | ca_CA |
