Brujas animadas. La imagen de la bruja en las series animadas de televisión proyectadas en la década de 2000 a 2010 en España

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se realizará una investigación sobre la figura de la bruja –su estética y las cuestiones de género que suscita– dentro de las series de animación emitidas en España en la primera década del siglo XXI. Se analizarán series dónde aparezcan tanto brujas como brujos, y que están enfocadas a públicos de diversas edades, tanto infantil, juvenil cómo adulto; esto nos permitirá poder crear una comparativa tanto de género como por edades. Las series trabajadas proceden tanto de los Estados Unidos como de Japón, albergando también algunas producciones españolas. Para poder llevar a cabo la investigación se ha realizado un recorrido por la historia que acompaña a la bruja desde la antigüedad; un breve repaso de la historia del cómic y del manga, prestando una especial atención a las apariciones de brujas en la historia de la animación a lo largo del siglo XX y de la primera década del siglo XXI. Se ha trabajado desde una perspectiva de género, observando y analizando los temas propios del feminismo que aparecían en las series. Las apreciaciones superficiales y aparentemente ingenuas, o no tanto, que aparecen en los episodios relacionando a las brujas con las cuestiones de género tienen un profundo calado, pues transmiten una visión sesgada de la mujer en diferentes roles: la visión de la mala madre –o de la madrastra–, de la viuda, o de la mujer en puestos de poder, entre otras cuestiones.

In this work, research will be carried out on the figure of the witch -her aesthetics and the gender issues that it raises- within the animation series broadcast in Spain in the first decade of the 21st century. We will analyze series where both witches and sorcerers appear, and that are aimed at audiences of different ages, both children, youth and adults; this will allow us to create a comparison of both gender and age. The series produced come from both the United States and Japan, and are also home to some Spanish productions. In order to carry out the research a tour of the history that accompanies the witch since ancient times; a brief review of the history of comic books and manga, paying special attention to the appearances of witches in the history of animation throughout the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century. We have worked from a gender perspective, observing and analyzing the feminism issues that appeared in the series. The superficial and seemingly naïve, or not so naive, insights that appear in the episodes relating witches to gender issues are deep-rooted, as they convey a biased view of women in different roles: the vision of the bad mother, or of the stepmother, of the widow, or of the woman in positions of power, among other issues.
