Los alimentos en el mundo romano estuvieron muy presentes para el desarrollo de la
sociedad. La influencia griega impregnó de cultura la gastronomía y los ritos durante el
Imperio. Los famosos banquetes que hemos escuchado hablar los cuales se producían en la
antigua Roma fueron una ostentosidad que se daba en contadas ocasiones. Desde el lugar donde
comían con todos los utensilios de distinta índole que giraban entorno a la alimentación, se
formó una manera de relación que ayudó a desarrollar la cultura romana.
La conexión con el alimento sacado de la tierra y la naturaleza que posteriormente se
conservaba, cortaba y trataba promovió un estudio que ha llegado hasta nuestros días. Desde
el producto más natural hasta el más refinado, los alimentos han sido tratados no solo como
alimentación sino como una manera de disfrutar de ellos. El gesto de compartir alimentos en
la mesa impulsó el desarrollo de los banquetes y la gastronomía que juntas, enriquecieron la
cultura del Imperio. [-]

Food in the Roman world was very present for the development of society. Greek
influence permeated gastronomy and ritual rites during the Empire. The famous banquets that
we have heard talk about that took place in ancient Rome were an ostentation that occurred
rarely. From the place where they ate with all the tools of various kinds that spin around food,
a way of relating was formed that helped to develop Roman culture.
The connection with food taken from the earth and nature that was later preserved, cut
and processed became a study that continues to this day. From the most natural to the most
refined product, food have been treated not only as food but also as a way to enjoy them. The
gesture of sharing food at the table promoted the development of banquets and gastronomy that
together enriched the culture of the Empire [-]
