This study aims to observe and evaluate if a group of adults with Down Syndrome
(DS) and Intellectual Disability (ID) is able to understand the behavior and the intentions of
other people. Moreover, this investigation tries to see if they are able to judge certain actions
as appropriate or inappropriate. To this end, scenes on theory of mind and morality are
presented, asking them to answer questions about the goodness or badness of a person, the
judgment of certain actions and the guilt and punishment deserved by the protagonist. It is
found that DS and ID have been able to partially solve the tasks providing solutions and using
basic answers to moral dilemmas. Significant differences appear between both groups,
although ID scores higher than DS. It is shown that the group of ID presents advanced TM
and DS group has difficulties in appreciating the badness in people and does not contemplate
punishment as a solution to problems. [-]
