Los caminos de Casandra y Clitemnestra se entrecruzaron en un encuentro trágico de irreversibles consecuencias. Utilizando la perspectiva de género analizamos el violento asesinato de la adivina a manos de la reina de Micenas y realizamos una re-lectura de ambos personajes. Cada una de ellas, a su manera, se apartó del modelo de mujer requerido: callada, pudorosa, sumisa y dependiente. Las dos eligieron conscientemente alzar la voz, actuar de forma autónoma y rebelarse frente al mandato de obediencia al varón. Más allá de su evidente caracterización como víctima y verdugo, en cierta manera, ambas confluyen como mujeres que peligrosamente trastocan los roles de género y el orden social. Por eso sus elecciones no podían quedar impunes. [-]

Cassandra’s and Clytemnestra’s lives bumped into a tragic meeting with irreversible consequences. Using gender-perspective, we will decode the violent murder of the prophesier committed by the queen of Mycenae and we will re-read both characters. In their own way, each of them diverged from the silent, modest, obedient and dependent female character archetype. They both consciously chose to raise their voices; they act autonomously and rise against the social requirement that commanded women to obey men. Beyond their evident portrayal as victim and executioner, in a way they converge as women who dangerously disrupted gender-roles and social order. Thus, their elections could not be left unpunished.
