The main objective of this piece of research is to analyse the social aspects that appear in the workplace. As this paper is going to describe, motivation is going to be crucial in order to understand how employees behave and which are their ambitions regarding their professional career. Besides, the treat workers receive from the entities as well as other several entities’ features will condition the outcome of this study. Additionally, to comprehend this environment, it is essential to understand four main theories: Maslow’s (1943) hierarchy of needs, McGregor’s (1960) theory X and theory Y, Herzberg’s (1960) two factor theory and McCelland’s (1961) theory of acquired needs. In order to develop such research, it was important to gather the data from a real-life context. Therefore, two surveys were created to fulfil such purpose: one forwarded to the employers of different companies and another handed to several students or people actively seeking for a job. Once the responses were provided, it was necessary to examine them and provide a proper explanation to the results and attempt to offer a solution to the faced issues. Furthermore, a subjective opinion will be described contrasting the results obtained by the polls. The results of this study will demonstrate that social aspects, specially motivation, are going to be considerably important for both employees and the firms to be successful. The last part of this project offers several solutions to improve workers’ conditions as well as ways to turn the lack of motivation into actual motivation. [-]
