En este trabajo presentamos un estudio descriptivo, en el ámbito de la traducción literaria, de textos heterolingües que emergen de la escritura antillana de expresión francesa, de la llamada escritura de minorías. Proponemos el análisis del heterolingüismo de la novela de la escritora franco-guadalupeña Gisèle Pineau, La grande drive des esprits (1993), y su versión al español, Una antigua maldición (1999), realizada por Manuel Serrat Crespo. El objetivo general propuesto consiste, de una parte, en caracterizar la lengua de escritura desterritorializada de la autora, que constituye el centro de su proyecto ético y estético de resistencia. De otra, examinamos su traducción al español. Por tanto, nuestra investigación se cumple en dos grandes etapas: en la primera, se describen y analizan los fenómenos lingüísticos provenientes de otras lenguas, observados en la obra escrita en francés; en la segunda, se describen y analizan las elecciones traductoras utilizadas en la versión al español. Este contraste permitirá revelar los múltiples desafíos que representa la traducción de la hibridez lingüística de este tipo de textos a una lengua única. El marco teórico literario será el del espacio antillano y el movimiento de la Creolidad. Como sustento teórico traductológico, nos basaremos en los enfoques culturales y hermenéuticos, haciendo especial hincapié en la relación entre traducción, cultura e ideología. La hipótesis que planteamos es que la tendencia hacia la conservación o la sustitución de elementos heterolingües en la traducción se encuentra vinculada al reforzamiento o al debilitamiento, respectivamente, del proyecto de resistencia y de reivindicación lingüístico-cultural de la escritura de minorías. Sin embargo, en los casos de eliminación del heterolingüismo, en particular en el caso de supresión del creole y reemplazo por el español reinventado, es posible percibir la presencia subyacente de la lengua suprimida en la traducción. Este tipo de análisis pone a prueba protocolos metodológicos habituales (que deben, con frecuencia, reformularse para el caso de los textos heterolingües) y desestabiliza las nociones tradicionales de texto original y traducción. Por último y fundamentalmente, este estudio pretende poner en evidencia la complejidad de la tarea traductora ante el heterolingüismo literario y la responsabilidad asumida por el traductor cuando, a través de sus decisiones como agente (¿manipulador?) mediador entre lenguas y culturas, refuerza la dominación eurocéntrica o promueve una traducción de subversión.
