This document constitutes the technical report for the development of a
minigame-driven rhythm video game called So Be It. The proposed project consists of the
design and development of a 2D rhythm and music game using Unity [1] as its game engine,
focusing in the design for mobile devices. It is a minigame based project, where the main
objective of the players is to complete every level in order to unlock new challenges,
enhanced by a fictional world which the players explore by playing minigames that take
place on them. Completing the levels helps neighbours from that world that reward the
player with beats (in-game currency, from now on will be referred as bts) to customize their
in-game home as they like.
In each level, a minigame related to rhythm and music has to be played without too
many mistakes to advance to the next level. Game mechanics will focus on making the
players interact with the game in different ways with the same purpose: to play with the
music/rhythm. The purpose of the game mechanics is to exploit the available inputs in
mobile devices, such as multi-touch, gyroscope, accelerometer or the microphone to create
a dynamic gameplay experience that flows with the environment of the game. [-]
