The objective of the project is the development of a 2D game engine in C++ which will be
built on top of the SDL library. The engine will be able to render 2D images, play sound,
have collision detection, read from ... [+]
The objective of the project is the development of a 2D game engine in C++ which will be
built on top of the SDL library. The engine will be able to render 2D images, play sound,
have collision detection, read from XML files, receive input from keyboard, mouse and Xbox
360 controllers and have multiple scenes. The scenes will be built by game objects which
will be read from an XML file. This will allow the quick prototyping and will make the engine
easier to use.
In order to test the game engine capabilities a game will be developed with it. The game will
use all the possible capabilities of the engine and will easily prove its functionality. [-]
