El jurado popular

Abstract

Hace más de dos siglos que conocemos el Tribunal del Jurado, sin embargo, es una figura que no siempre ha estado presente debido a los cambios de régimen políticos. En la actualidad y desde 1995 encontramos su época de mayor estabilidad, respaldada por la Ley Orgánica del Tribunal del Jurado (en adelante LOTJ). En el presente trabajo se estudiará cual ha sido la evolución y las dificultades del Jurado con anterioridad a la LOTJ y cuál es la situación del jurado con posterioridad a ésta. Para esto último se analizará la referida ley, incidiendo en los aspectos más relevantes de la misma. Además se analizará también la institución del Tribunal del Jurado en otros países, tales como Inglaterra y Estados Unidos.

We have known the Jury Court for more tan two centuries, but it is a figure that has not always been present due to political regime changes. Nowadays and since 1995 we find its period of greater stability, supported by the Ley Orgánica del Tribunal del Jurado (LOTJ). In this academic work will be studied which has been the evolution and the difficulties of the Jury Prior before LOTJ and what is the situation of the jury after this law. To do the last one, the aforementioned law will be analyzed, focusing on the most relevant aspects of it. In addition, the institution of the Jury Court will be analyzed in other countries as well, such as Englad and the United States.
