Introducción: El síndrome de burnout repercute en la calidad del servicio ofrecido por
los profesionales que lo padecen. El sector sanitario tiene unas características que lo
convierten en un grupo de alto riesgo de sufrir este tipo de síndrome, siendo el sector
laboral con mayores tasas de burnout en España, lo que significa que puede llegar a ser
un problema social y sanitario de gran envergadura, provocando mayores tasas de
mortalidad y un aumento de la mala praxis médica.
Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio, es observar el desarrollo de las tasas de burnout
en el sector de enfermería de algunos hospitales públicos y privados de la ciudad de
Madrid después de la implantación de las medidas privatizadoras de la Sanidad Pública
llevadas a cabo por el Gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid.
Material y método: Estudio descriptivo y longitudinal, realizado a enfermeros/as de
algunos hospitales públicos y privados de la ciudad de Madrid. Para la obtención de
datos se ha utilizado el cuestionario Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI HSS) y para la
interpretación de los mismos se realizará mediante el programa informático SPSS 22.0. [-]

Introduction: the burnout syndrome is the feeling of exhaustion (physical and
emotional) that people suffer under difficulties or demanding conditions in their work
environment. As it causes fatigue and susceptibility to illness, is one of the most serious
problems in the Spanish National Health System. In fact, it is the working sector with
more relevant rates of burnout in Spain. The consequences in this field could be fatal, as
mistakes can lead to malpractice and higher mortality rates in patients.
Aim: the main aim of this study is to analyze the burnout rates in the medical sector of
public and private institutions in Madrid City, after the implementation of privatization
of some services in public hospitals carried out by the Comunidad de Madrid
government.
Methods and materials: the descriptive and longitudinal study was realized with the
help of nurse from different, public and private, institutions in Madrid City. While the
data procurement was performed using the Maslach BurnoutInventory (MBI HSS)
questioner, the treatment of the results was carried out by employing the software SPSS
22.0. [-]
