Análisis comparado de dos adaptaciones de Drácula por Jesús Franco

Abstract

La fuerza de atracción que ha tenido y sigue teniendo el cine fantástico reside en su competencia para exponer los miedos y deseos más profundos del imaginario colectivo, de representar a través de símbolos lo que no estaba permitido decir abiertamente. Los vampiros son los personajes por excelencia que han configurado el cine de horror desde los primeros tiempos. Pero lo cierto es que el cine de terror no llegó a España hasta el año 1967. La ausencia de tradición sobre el género, la falta de recursos económicos y la situación política fueron las causas principales de que este tipo de filmes permanecieran en un segundo plano en el panorama cinematográfico español. Pero ya a finales de la década y principios de los 70 comenzaron a plasmarse en la gran pantalla los mitos tradicionales de terror que incluso se llegarían a mezclar con lo erótico. El director Jesús Franco será uno de los precursores de este cine eróticovampírico y aportará una visión diferente a este género.

Vampires are typical characters that have shaped the horror film since the early days. But the truth is that horror films did not arrive to Spain until the year 1967. The absence of tradition on the gender, the lack of financial resources and the political situation were the main causes why this type of film remained in the background in Spanish Cinema scene. But already in the late and early 70s began to be seen on the big screen the traditional myths of terror that it would even mix with the erotic. Director Jesús Franco will be one of the forerunners of this erotico-vampirico film and he will provide a different vision from this genre.
