Purpose
: To describe and analyze the results of cytoreductive surgery in terms of
effectiveness and safety in patients diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis by the
Multidisciplinary Unit of Abdominal
-
Pelvic Oncological Surgery
(
MUAPOS
)
of th
e General
University Hospital of Castellón,
after the multidisciplinary measures taken, and to
compare the current results of patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis of ovarian origin
to those of the Castellón registry of the year (2004
-
2008) before the start of
MU
APOS
.
Methods
: 108 patients diagnosed in our center with peritoneal carcinomatosis between
2013 and 2018 were included in the study.
The Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Index (PCI) was quantified during the surgery and, after
that, the optimal surgery achieved
(CCO) was analyzed as the main
prognostic factors.
The overall survival (OS) and the free survival without disease (DFS) were measured, and
also the survival stratified by the type of cytoreduction obtained and the Peritoneal
Carcinomatosis Index (PCI).
F
inally, the overall survival (OS) of patients diagnosed with carcinomatosis from ovarian
stages FIGO III
-
IV was analyzed and compared with the records of Castellón from 2004 to
2008.
Results
: In 88.9% of cases a complete / optimal surgery was achieved; th
e overall survival
median was 33.43 months
CI 95%
(24,6
-
42,17)
. The median of survival of patients in
whom complete / optimal surgery was achieved was 38 months
CI 95%
(26,3
-
49,4)
,
compared with a median of 20.6 months
(11,28
-
30,05)
, in patients with
suboptimal
surgery.
The median for patients diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis from the ovary was 20
months
CI 95% (
16
-
29)
for the Castellón registry from 2004 to 2008, compared to a
median of 33 months
CI 95% (
28
-
45)
for the UMCOAP.
Conclusions:
Th
e multidisciplinary measures taken have allowed an improvement in the
percentage of complete / optimal
debulking
surgery, and with it an increase in overall
survival. [-]

los del registro de Castellón del año (2004

UMCOAP.
Métodos:
Se incluyeron en el estudio
108
pacientes diagnost
supervivencia global. [-]
