La transmisión de los conocimientos científicos ha existido desde siempre. Lo que ha ido
cambiando a lo largo de los siglos, de forma muy notable, ha sido el receptor de la comunicación
y la lengua en la que esta se lleva a cabo.
Con la llegada de la divulgación científica, el receptor de la comunicación científica deja de ser un
especialista y pasa a ser el público general. El auge de Internet y la democratización del acceso a
la información también contribuyen a que se incremente su curiosidad por conocer los nuevos
avances en ciencia y tecnología.
Por otra parte, el hecho de que el inglés se haya convertido en la lengua franca del saber científico
explica el porqué de que la mayor parte de la producción científica especializada se publique en
esta lengua. No obstante, su divulgación se sigue consumiendo principalmente en la lengua
materna, por eso es necesario reelaborar el texto escrito por especialistas y adaptarlo al nuevo
receptor. Este proceso en el que un género textual (AD) se deriva de otro (AI) que contiene la
información científica primaria se conoce en Traductología como traducción heterofuncional
(Nord 1997, 51), intergenérica (Ezpeleta 2012, 175) o intralingüística (Zethsen 2009, 800) y trae
como consecuencia una serie de cambios lingüísticos, funcionales y estructurales que son el
marco de estudio de este trabajo.
Entre las principales conclusiones, además de identificar una gran variedad de procedimientos que
afectan tanto a nivel macrotextual como microtextual, en los AD hemos podido apreciar un
importante grado de subjetividad en el trato de la información contenida en los artículos
originales, así como marcas de interferencia textual en los textos divulgativos como consecuencia
del influjo del inglés en la comunicación científica. [-]
