campo: David Guttenfelder, Michael Christopher, Stephanie Sinclair, Manu Brabo,
Marcus Bleasdale y Ed Kashi.

This investigation project focuses on the role of photojournalists that make use
of social networks to defend human rights. Through digitization and with and the
increasing popularity of social media, photos are becoming more important each
day, and it’s due to this, that a lot of photojournalists have found in these platforms
a perfect opportunity to expand their content. This assignment studies the
professional function that photojournalists oriented towards the protection of
human rights give to social networks. For being able to perform such study, six
photojournalists recognized world wide in this domain (human rights) have been
selected. Their names are the following: David Guttenfelder, Michael Christopher,
Stephanie Sinclair, Manu Brabo, Marcus Bleasdale and Ed Kashi. All of them use
social networks as the platforms through which they expose their professional
photographs. The social networks used for the investigation are the most popular
ones now a days: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The methodology to follow for
the investigation requires a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the posts
published in the different social networks of the authors during the period of 1
year, adding up to a total of 2 249 posts. [-]
