anxiety

stress
in
sport

The
main
aim
of
this
project
is
to
discover
the
relation
between
these
variables
in
a
sample
of
selected
basketball
players
.
The
expected
results
are
that
athletes
with
lower
punctuation
in
self
-
confidence
and
self
-
efficacy
are
supposed
to
get
a
higher
punctuation
in
stress
and
anxiety
.

is
given
to
22
players
in
order
to
measure
the
effect
of
these
variables
.
Regarding
the
data
analysis,
once
the
Pearson’s
correlations
were
calculated,
the
relation
between
the
four
variables
was
not
significant
but
positive
.
Then,
the
anxiety
scale
was
divided
into
two
subscales
:
cognitive
anxiety
and
physiological
anxiety
.
The
physiological
anxiety
was
correlated
significantly
p=
0
,
05
with
self
-
efficacy
.
As
a
conclusion,
it
is
believed
that
individuals
interpreted
the
physiological
sensations
of
anxiety
as
symptoms
that
are
activated
during
competition
.
For
this
reason,
they
obtained
a
higher
punctuation
in
self
-
efficacy [-]
