Introduction:
Due to the growing interest of the population in food and alternative
therapies, such as soya and the unknowns about its role in cancer. Our goal is to review
the relationship between soy and cancer in healthy
populations and in populations with a
history of cancer.
Methodology:
An integrative review of the literature in the following databases is
performed: Pubmed, ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health database, CINAHL, L
ilacs
,
IBECS, Cochrane Library Plus using th
e search strategy "Soybeans" AND "Neoplasms"
with full text, human, language limitation filters.
No temporary criteria were established.
Results:
A total of N=20 publications have been selected, of which n=8 (40%) related
soya to the healthy population and
n=12 (60%) to the population diagnosed with cancer.
Among the most studied countries are Korea, China and Japan. Studies are published
from 1996 to 2014, with 2009 being the year of greatest publication (n=4) in both
populations. The foods studied were to
fu, miso soup, soy milk and other processed
products.
Conclusion:
Regular consumption of soya is related to breast cancer and is protective
against gastric, prostate, lung and endometrial tumours. Due to the heterogeneity of the
results, it has not been p
ossible to establish general conclusions, and more research is
needed on the association of soya with cancer. [-]

Introducción:
D
ebido al creciente interés
de la población por alimentos
y terapias
alternativas,
Pubmed, ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health database, CINAHL, L
ilacs
, IBECS,
Biblioteca Cochrane Plus utilizando de
estrategia de búsqueda “Soybeans” AND
“Neoplasms” con los filtros texto completo, humanos,
limitación
idiomática
. No se
estableció criterios de temporalidad.
Resultados:
Se han seleccionado un total de N=2
0
publicaciones, de las cuales,
n=8
(40%) relacio
C
orea, China
y
Japón
.
Se registran estudios desde 1996 hasta 201
4
siendo el año de mayor publicación
el 2009 (n=
4
)
en ambas poblaciones
.
protector frente a
