Purpose: The main objective of this work is to study how some organizational variables
that determine intra-entrepreneur orientation influence employees’ intra-entrepreneur
behavior. For this purpose, we will consider background organizational and individual
information of intra-entrepreneurship. More precisely, organizational analyzed variables
are management support, use of rewards, and freedom, uncertainty and available time
within tasks. At the individual level, we will also assess innovative nature, proactivity and
risk assumption by employers in order to establish the level of intra-entrepreneur behavior
within the staff.
Design/Methodology: For the purpose of achieving proposed aims, we pose a research
model that is based in a theoretical revision and in models formulated over time. With a
view to resolve raised questions, we have collected data through several questionnaires
which are completed by CEOs/CTOs and employers from two companies that operate in a
technologic and innovative environment in the province of Castellon, such as “Nayar
Systems” and “Pinchaaquí”.
Findings: Results reveal the fact that both companies present high levels of innovative
behavior and proactivity by employees according to the point of view of management.
Furthermore, we also observed the low risks assumed by the personal from both
companies. Apart from that, our results show that as management support increases, so
does the use of rewards and freedom within tasks, in other words, higher levels of intraentrepreneur
behavior emerge in the business. [-]
